Sana acquires Ctrl to accelerate its vision for building powerful AI agents for the enterprise

Sana, the global leader in applying AI to enterprise knowledge, has acquired Ctrl, which raised 9 million dollars led by the funds LocalGlobe and EarlyBird and specializing in AI workflow automation. The strategic acquisition aligns with Sana’s ambitious growth strategy and aims to bolster its capabilities in delivering cutting-edge AI agent solutions to its customers. Following the acquisition, Sana will open R&D in Israel.

Creating the knowledge operating system for the enterprise – Sana’s mission is to transform how organizations share and access knowledge with AI. Founded by Joel Hellermark in 2016, the company first pioneered AI-powered knowledge sharing and learning for the enterprise. In April this year, Sana made its AI knowledge assistant available to everyone, for free—with over 30,000 workspaces created in a matter of weeks.

Solving multi-step workflows with AI — example use cases The latest advancements in AI have resulted in a paradigm shift in how knowledge can be consumed, organized, and created. As evidenced by the Ctrl acquisition, Sana has prided itself on leading the change by combining world-class design, in-house AI, and powerful infrastructure. Ctrl’s expertise in AI automation has garnered trust from sellers and teams around the world including Stripe, Airtable, and Snowflake, as well as backing from prominent investors including Local Globe and Earlybird.

Together, Sana and Ctrl will solve multi-step workflows including: Sales process progression: AI agents can streamline the sales process by automatically tracking and managing multiple steps, such as sending follow-up emails, scheduling meetings, and updating deal statuses based on customer interactions. This ensures that sales representatives can focus on building relationships rather than getting bogged down in administrative tasks.

Customer support management: AI agents can streamline customer support by automatically categorizing incoming tickets, assigning them to the appropriate support team members, sending acknowledgment emails to customers, and following up on unresolved tickets based on predefined timelines.

Employee onboarding: AI agents can automate the onboarding process by sending welcome emails, scheduling orientation sessions, providing access to necessary tools and resources, and tracking the completion of required training modules.
