CSM GmbH Becomes 100% Part of the Vector Group

the software specialist Vector Informatik takes over the measurement technology manufacturer CSM from Filderstadt completely.

After years of successful cooperation between CSM Computer-Systeme-Messtechnik GmbH and Vector Informatik GmbH, CSM is now part of the Vector Group. Both companies have been working together since 2015 and supply their customers with comprehensive complete solutions comprising hardware and software for measurement technology applications. CSM will continue its business activities independently after the takeover at the headquarters in Filderstadt.

As a leading manufacturer of distributed and robust measurement technology for vehicle development, CSM supports the successful transition to electric drive systems worldwide with its products. Since 1983, the owner-managed company has been developing innovative and reliable solutions for acquiring a wide range of analog values. More than 100 employees currently work on development, production and customer interfaces at the company headquarters in Filderstadt near Stuttgart and in international branches, including an independent team in Auburn Hills, USA.

Important Step for the Future

With the takeover, the long-standing partners Vector and CSM are ensuring that they can continue to offer their customers coordinated, innovative and all-in-one measurement technology solutions and drive forward new developments in the long term. After the leaving of the founding and managing director couple Iris and Dr. Winfried Koch, the employees will continue to have a sustainable workplace. Dr. Stefan Krauß, working at with Vector since 2002, has started his position as the new Managing Director at CSM on July 1, 2024 and is looking forward to the new tasks: “The many years of successful cooperation have shown that Vector and CSM can ideally combine their respective expertise to provide our customers with robust and future-proof measurement technology. We want to meet future challenges, especially in e-mobility, with further tailor-made developments.”

Combination of Hardware and Software Expertise

With an annual turnover of 1.16 billion euros in 2023, Vector is one of the leading manufacturers for the development of software-based electronic systems. On the market for over 35 years, Vector employs over 4,500 people worldwide – at its headquarters in Stuttgart-Weilimdorf and in other branches in Brazil, the USA, the UK, Japan, India, China and South Korea, among others. Together with CSM’s expertise in hardware measurement technology, products have been jointly developed over the years, including the Vector CSM e-mobility measurement system, a coordinated and integrated solution for a wide range of measurement tasks in vehicle development.
