EuroLeague basketball and MindFly bodycam to transport fans onto the court

EuroLeague fans will have the chance to experience the most thrilling momentum of the season from a first-person perspective as the referees officiating the two semifinals and the championship game at the 2023 Final Four in Kaunas will do so while wearing revolutionary MindFly AI ultralight-powered bodycams during the action.

The semifinals, which will be played on May 19, will mark the first time that MindFly technology will be deployed in a Turkish Airlines EuroLeague game, with the bodycams poised to capture an immersive experience that provides both video and audio feeds, replicating the closest experience that anyone can have on the court.

All fans will have the possibility to experience the immersive content that will be created with this revolutionary technology with the special clips that will be created and published on EuroLeague Basketball’s official web and social media platforms.

Eran Tal, CEO and co-founder of MindFly, said, “The videos we produce for EuroLeague events should generate immense interest among basketball enthusiasts. Our technology enhances the experience for passionate viewers and fans who want to follow every possible angle of all the action on the court, especially during decisive game-changing moments.”

MindFly provides an end-to-end solution for professional sports that utilizes AI-based body cameras to capture video and sound from the player’s and/or referee’s point of view.  It also incorporates an AI cloud platform that stabilizes, edits, and distributes video clips and plans to offer live broadcasts in the near future.

Among the EuroLeague teams already collaborating with MindFly are Monaco, Žalgiris, Panathinaikos, Fenerbahçe, and Bayern Munich. The company’s football clients include Manchester City, the leading team in the Premier League; Napoli, the leader of Series A in Italy; Newcastle; Sparta Prague; and Galatasaray, the leading team in the Turkish league. MindFly also collaborates with leagues such as the MLS and Serie A, as well as broadcasting entities like DAZN, Globo, and T-Mobile, with whom MindFly is working on developing the next-generation of live broadcasting with 5G.

MindFly was founded in early 2021 by two serial entrepreneurs: Eran Tal, the company’s CEO, and Yehuda Elmaliah, the CTO. Tal, a serial entrepreneur in the video field, established and managed the startups Evrideo, Goopi.tv, and Individual.tv. Elmaliah is one of the founders and the CTO of Optibase, a NASDAQ-listed company that reached a valuation of half a billion dollars. He was also founder and CTO of Mobixell, which was acquired by Flash Networks.

MindFly currently employs 12 people in Tel Aviv and Barcelona. The company has raised approximately $2.5 million to date from I-Lab Angels and a group of private investors led by venture capitalist Lior Elkayam, who manages the M-Fund Club investors’ club and has invested in several early-stage startups in Israel, including Zesty and GrowthSpace.

MindFly’s solution is applicable to all sports disciplines and can be implemented without the need for additional teams or infrastructure investments. It is tailored to all media channels, including social media platforms, OTT platforms, websites, D2C applications, television channels, and all types of devices (televisions, mobile devices, tablets, and laptops).
