Würth Elektronik eiSos extends its WE-LAN AQ series

First LAN Transformer Manufactured 100% by Automation Now Available as a Gigabit Version

Waldenburg (Germany), 1 February 2018 – Würth Elektronik eiSos extends its WE-LAN AQ series manufactured by full automation. The new gigabit package excels with its outstanding electrical properties and compact design.

With WE-LAN AQ, the previous wound toroid cores are replaced with SMD-solderable transformers and common-mode choke elements. The low return loss attenuation gives the package an outstanding signal yield. WE-LAN AQ is specified for the industrial temperature range -40 to +85°C and is compatible with conventional LAN products. With a low height of 4 mm for the 10/100 Base-T variant and 4.25 mm for the 1000 Base-T variant, Würth Elektronik eiSos offers pin and pad compatible components for conventional standard packages. The lateral half-vias mean that their solder joints can be inspected in SMT production using automated optical inspection (AOI).

Possible applications are found in all industrial Ethernet systems, such as EtherCAT or Profinet, from factory automation through to use in networks. Free samples of the component are now available from stock without a minimum order quantity.
