Belden Inc., a global leader in signal transmission solutions for mission-critical applications, will demonstrate at SPS/IPC/Drives 2017 in Nuremberg how the company can deliver connectivity solutions that will help to leverage the benefits of the Internet of Things (IoT).
In addition, the Belden team will present a number of new products and technologies from its Belden, Hirschmann and Lumberg Automation product ranges designed to enhance the productivity of industrial systems and machines. These include:
Hirschmann DRAGON MACH4000/4500 Layer 3 Backbone Family
To meet the need for increased network bandwidth and flexible future-oriented solutions Hirschmann has designed a next generation Layer 3 Ethernet backbone product family: DRAGON MACH4000/4500. Available in two major open variants, they offer a maximum of 80 x 1Gb/s modular ports and 8 x 10G fixed ports. The DRAGON MACH4000 family supports redundant internal power supplies to increase device availability, and low-cost future expansion is easy thanks to spare slots for a total of 48 additional ports in copper or fiber.
Hirschmann BAT450-F LTE Industrial Wireless LAN Access Points
Features multiple interface configurations and a new cellular module that provides a WWAN (Wireless Wide Area Network) interface. This ensures greater flexibility for deployment, as well as maximum cost effectiveness. In addition, a wider range of wireless applications is now possible. Customized design allows the selection of elements needed to meet the unique requirements of any network and its environmental conditions.
Hirschmann RSPE35 and RSPE37
Time Sensitive Networking (TSN) is a state-of-the-art set of protocols to enable the transmission of time sensitive data across an Ethernet network. The solution requires Time-aware Scheduling (802.1Qbv) plus extremely accurate networks clocks based on IEEE 1588v2. The Hirschmann RSPE35 and RSPE37 support both these functions, which are available as a software upgrade. Other hardware will support TSN in the near future.
The Lumberg Automation brand is introducing a number of industry firsts. These include:
In a world moving toward new levels of interoperability made possible by the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT), visibility is vital to operators as they face increasing demands to receive, analyze and share data. Belden’s industrial connectivity solutions address these needs head on. With more connected machines, rising data volumes and increasing productivity demands, customers can count on Belden cable and Lumberg Automation and Hirschmann industrial connectors for a complete communications infrastructure designed to last. Belden’s customized systems provide high levels of performance and reliability to help a wide range of industrial automation applications handle the growth of intelligent, networked devices and robust analytics.
As an early innovator in industrial Ethernet, Belden knows industrial IT and delivers the next generation of industrial networking solutions, including wired, wireless and embedded products. With its global brands – Hirschmann, GarrettCom and Tofino Security – Belden helps companies minimize downtime and take advantage of the real-time data access and control made possible by the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT). Through a seamless, secure and scalable industrial Ethernet infrastructure, companies are equipped to revolutionize their operations and achieve improved efficiency, productivity and agility.
