New Honeywell proximity sensors are rugged and reliable in extreme environments – now from TTI, Inc.
Suit aerospace, marine, mass transit, ordnance applications as well as high performance industrial equipment
August 2015 – New Honeywell proximity sensors designed for extreme environments are now available in Europe through TTI, Inc., a world leading specialist distributor of passive, connector, electromechanical and discrete components. These rugged, one or two piece proximity sensors are designed to withstand extreme temperature, vibration, shock and EMI/EMP interference and are available in a number of different housing materials and styles. The new Honeywell proximity sensors suit aerospace applications such as aircraft landing gear, ordnance applications including projectile sensing and gun turret position control, and marine and offshore equipment applications such as hatch and door position in submarines. High-performance industrial equipment is another suitable application area.
Honeywell proximity sensors boast compact housings and available in a number of housing materials and either leadwire or connector termination styles. They meet demanding temperature, vibration, shock and EMI/EMP interference requirements. Operating on the ECKO principle, which detects metal objects passing in front of the sensing face, once a target metal is detected, the Honeywell proximity sensor produces a trigger signal which is then passed through the output conditioning circuitry to give a high or low output, depending on the sensor application.
